Foodventures in Manila, day 4
January 26, 2007I was searching for Mitch Albom's Five People You Meet in Heaven so B and I ended up in Powerbooks in Megamall. It was out of stock so B and I went instead to Robinson's Galleria to have lunch in Asian Bites. Asian Bites is a tiny food place located just inside the groceries of Robinson's malls. It serves mostly Japanese food at very affordable prices.

Foodventures in Manila, day 3
When I'm in Manila, it is very rare that I do not visit Divisoria. It's my mecca there. The sight of many people and with many items for sale in front of me (at low low prices) ignites my brain and quickens my blood. For our day in Divisoria, B suggested that we eat in one of Binondo's oldest Chinese restaurant.

Foodventures in Manila, day 2
January 20, 2007 I finally went to the office and did my thing. I was told that I would not be able to finish it that day as they were prioritizing my boss' business. It was no big deal for me so I left. I picked up B and we went to Manila as I wanted to check on something there. It was lunchtime when we arrived so we went to Robinson's Place. We were planning to eat at Asian Bites, our new favorite eating place, when we were stopped by a banner in Mangan

Foodventures in Manila, day 1
I arrived in B's house, still groggy from the bus ride. When I woke from my nap, I was debating whether to go to the office and do some business or go to Makati to do some business. I opted for the latter as I might not finish soon enough at the office. So we hopped on a bus for Makati.

Vegetable Soup
January 17, 2007Ate has not been feeling well lately so she asked me to make some soup. After work today, I went to the market and bought some veggies. I used potatoes, carrot, cabbage, baguio pechay, bell peppers, white onions and celery. I usually cook by tantya method so I don't have any measurements. I simply used enough for four people.
Ate’s Patatim
January 16, 2007Every family has tradition for every occasion. Mine has to have patatim for Christmas. It started with my late Dad who starts cooking it one day before Christmas. Made from a secret recipe which he developed, he passed it on to my sister before he died (siempre naman no). He didn’t pass it on to me ’cause I wasn’t really into cooking the time he was still alive.
A Reluctant Goodbye
So, after spending several thousand pesoses, I finally completed my Sandman collection.
It may seem to be a foolhardy achievement for some, and a waste of money for others but I don't really regret spending for comic books graphic novels.
Happy Mistake
January 3, 2007Before Tito Doc left for Manila, the sis gave him a box full of goodies like laing, chili crabs, adobong ananakla for him and a package of pili nuts for cousin B to bring back to the US of A. Guess who got the goodies.. Anyhoo, the US tita was overjoyed to get a big pleasant surprise in the balikbayan box. She even requested for a recipe of my herbed baked potatoes. says cousin B loved it so much (yay!) and I thought he liked it only because there was no other gulay on the table
