New Year, New Job

January 17, 2007

Last June 15, I finally joined the dark side.

I transferred from the PAO and joined the prosecution. It’s like jumping from the frying pan to the fire. My old office definitely looks better and cleaner. The people are definitely nicer. My new office looks dingier and cluttered. I’ll be working with a guy whom I have not been talking to for months already. Definitely, I would not let the last factor affect my work. Mas lalo ako walang plano na payagan syang sermonan ako.

I have been mulling over this decision for almost a year now. Several times, I have almost backed out. I’ve had more changes of mind than I could count. What turned the tide was the fact that I’ve been feeling that I’m stagnating in my old office. I’m so bored. And I hate civil cases. And I can’t stand clients who rape their own kids and other kids for that matter. The move has its advantages and disadvantages. I will have more work. I just hope the advantages will outweigh the latter. And I hope I don’t get bored soon.

B has been telling me that there are several vacant positions in their office. The salary is great but I don’t like the idea of moving back to Manila. I like visiting there but I don’t cotton to the idea of living there. And I don’t think I will be attending trials if I move there. My cases here are more interesting. Maybe in a few more years?
