Foodventures in Manila, still day 5
February 4, 2007After having lunch at Mr. Kebab, B and I were debating what to have for dinner. I wanted to go to Amici di Don Bosco but we didn't know where exactly it is. B wanted Indian food, specifically, at "Prince of Jaipur". So after dropping by an Internet cafe to check where the outlets of Prince are, B and I went merrily (and with full stomachs) at Eastwood in Libis. oh and so we could work off luch, we went shopping first
. After we decided that we could decently and with a clear conscience, eat diiner, we went to Eastwood.
At first, we had a hard time looking for price of jaipur as eastwood is literally a sea of eating establishments. B heard some music and said that "we must be near now because I could hear Indian music" while I heard Michael Buble singing. I cracked up at that. anyway, we asked for directions and we went inside this darkly lit place crammed with lots of decor. We were the only ones there. When we were handed the menu, I could see why. The prices are atrocious. Plain rice is priced at Php 100 while shrimp rice is around Php 700. We had an appetizer of mushrooms, lamb tandoori and i forgot what it is called, but its shrimp wrapped in ground chicken. sort of like camaron rebosado. the rice was awesome, fragrant and delicious. the food was great. i loved my roti channai. we had a hard time finishing it off, what with the heavy lunch and all. We paid around Php 2300 for the whole lunch. we just consoled ourselves that it was good value for great food.
