Lucky

October 19, 2007

I guess that with my job, I have been seeing too much of the dark depths of the human soul that I sometimes it comes as a surprise for me to see that there are still some good in people.

I've been trying for weeks to score some tickets to Josh Groban's concert. My friend B and I vowed to watch him. Unfortunately, the only seats available by the time I started looking was within the 15k range–too heavy for my wallet. So I gave up. No way I am going to waste money on that. I thought B had too. Not so. Two days ago, I was informed of B's plan of going to PICC, standing there and hoping that someone will be giving away a free–or an extremely cheap– ticket. Admittedly, I laughed. I was not expecting much from the plan, but let B go anyway. So last night, I was told that B is already standing outside PICC and waiting and praying for a ticket. A few hours I waited and no text from B. After midnight, B texted: "Praise God, I was able to watch Josh Groban's concert. I was able to meet this Bicolana named Ave and she bought me my ticket for which I gave her 1k. " I was floored. Completely and utterly.

To Ave of Masbate, you rock!

Last Monday, i was looking for my flash drive. Not seeing it in my bag, I thought that I left it at the office. When I arrived in the  office Tuesday, I looked for it on my table but didn't find it. I thought that I left it somewhere in my room. I looked for it again at home but nada. So I concluded that I must have lost it. I wasn't really worried as I just bought a 2gig flash drive. Its just a bummer because it was the one I use at the office.Well yesterday afternoon, I was at the office when this guy comes in and looking for me. When I asked him why, guess what he handed me. Yup, its the Lost One. I asked him where he got it but he just gestured vaguely and then left. I was not even able to ask him his name.

So there it is. Despite the negativity and the kapraningan around us, there are still some good in people. And I've been blessed to encounter some of them.
