Reading Green
February 22, 2009Ever since I’ve read in Eating Asia that Saveur magazine has featured Philippine food in its pages, I’ve been hankering to get hold of a copy. Getting a subscription is out of the question as it costs too much–around 4K per year. I could try browsing at Book Sale but the chances of getting what I want are pretty slim, considering the local book sale outlet here. I mean, where do they get off selling years old magazines for P70?
In times like these, where can a penny pinching girl turn to? The internet, of course. The Read Green Initiative (RGI) publishes and distributes digital magazines. This minimizes trash and is eco friendly as it is paperless. The subscriptions arrives as soon as it is available eliminating the need to wait and wait and wait for your favorite foreign magazine to arrive. There are no shipping charges to be paid. There are several popular titles to choose from. Best of all, when signing up, you get a free one year subsription to any title you want. Guys, they even have Penthouse and the Mexican edition of Playboy
